Cris has wavy blonde hair that stops just below her shoulders, and light, relatively smooth skin. She stands approximately 5’6” in height and is fairly slim, due to a mixture of genes and intense dieting. She has a stud nose piercing, and several tattoos of different designs swirling down her arms, the right more decorated than the left. On her lower back she has the tattoo of a dove spreading it’s wings. Her left ear contains three piercings while her right contains two. She has large green eyes and perfectly white teeth, although her greatest secret is that they are actually the result of surgery and an intense whitening process so she wouldn’t have to go through months of braces.

Cris is loud, opinionated, and on the outside seems to be bursting with confidence. She isn’t afraid to compliment herself, however she’s very quick to compliment others as well. She’s sweet towards the people that get on her good side, but cranky and snappish towards everyone else. She has a slightly above average intelligence, however she’s never really pursued that and the result is a subpar level of education and reasoning skills. She tries her hardest with things that she enjoys, such as guitar, and is quick to drop the things she doesn’t without really giving them a proper go. This reflects the way she acts towards people as well. Quick to form superficial relationships, it is equally easy for her to drop a friend that does something wrong. She flirts with just about anyone, not usually realizing it and not wanting anything to come out of it. It takes a very long time for her to form a real attachment to anyone, and isn’t always a good friend beforehand. She has her moments though where brief spouts of empathy keep people from dropping her completely.

Meryl Tiegs was a very popular model in the 80’s and 90’s, making waves in magazines such as Sports Illustrated and Elle Magazine at the young age of 19. However, as life went on and age began to become a larger and larger role in her career, she began losing headway. By the time Cris was born her modeling days were over, reduced to nothing but a million dollar has-been. Determined to make her come back, she used her daughter’s inherited beauty and youth as her ticket back into the modeling world.

At a very young age Crystal was put to work. Meryl used her old connections to get into Gap commercials, diaper ads, anything at all to make her name known. By the time she was 12 she was getting privately tutored so she could focus on her career without any distractions. Nannies and teachers went through her life like new flavors, and as such she made almost no friends nor was she exposed to many children her age.

At 14 Crystal found herself miserable. Never in her life had she tried anything other than exactly what her mother and directors asked of her. Modeling was her entire life, and she found that depressing. She liked to read, and knew that no one would want to read her life story when there was nothing else in it. She began to rebel, first by cutting her hair. This was easily fixed by professionals, but her mother was not happy. From then on she continued to go further and further to make her mother squirm.

By the time she was 15 she was attending parties, drinking, coming home escorted by men twice her age. A recent appearance in a Disney movie had gotten her name known, and already she was being labeled a party girl. Now, it became more than just her mother’s molded image of her she had to deal with. It was the media’s as well.

At 17 she was still modeling, and had gotten her GED. It was on set for a 17 Girl Magazine shoot that she first picked up an acoustic guitar being played by some of the extras in the back lounge. She loved the sound and very quickly purchased her own, as well as a self help book. Parties became less and less meaningful to her, although most of America still viewed her as a Paris Hilton wannabe.

As the epidemic spread, more and more jobs became available to her as more and more models became ill. In the last few weeks before the true break out, she actually had gained more popularity than ever. Her mother was pleased and blissfully unaware of the secret passion for music Cris had gained, although she got an earful for the small calluses that had formed on her hands from constant practice. She found herself waiting for the day she turned 18, and all the money she had put away could finally be hers and hers alone. She had dreams of quitting the industry forever, away from her mother and the media and opening a little music shop somewhere where her name wasn’t known.

It never happened though, because just a few days after her 18th birthday, her mother was dead.
