This is a record of the plotline timeline events in chronological order. Check this thread out so you know what's currently going on.

PRESENT-May 15, 2013-Virus spreads to almost every country after originating in Europe. Doctors and scientists struggle to create a vaccine and treat growing victims of the virus. Ordinary life goes on, however, as no major events have occurred, and so far, this is just a more dangerous virus than normal.

Would it be safe to assume countries have placed strict No-Fly zones around each other and borders are effectively closed?

At this point, yes. Except for governmental purposes, obviously. Governments and WHO would believe that the virus can be contained, just is highly contagious. As the virus spreads, it doesn't really matter as each country will be infected, but basically big airlines would still be shut down and only private pilots would be flying.

The first RP, where is it set? Like which city? Or does it not matter where our chars start off?

You start off wherever your character is from, doing whatever he/she would be doing on a normal day. The only thing different, Neph said, is that they would notice a lot of people out sick.
